Just watched it on bluray. I liked it. The trailers for this movie didn't do much for me, which is why I put off watching it in the theater. I just remember seeing that guy with the blue hair and thinking.. man, this movie looks so cheap. But within the context of the story, it made sense why those characters dressed oddly, in contrast to the way the people in the districts lived/dressed. Keep in mind, I didn't read the books and had no idea what to expect going into it. Decent movie overall, and the soundtrack was great too. (And yes I've seen Battle Royale. I think I liked this better. )

I hate when that happens. I try to get my movies on Friday now, before most people have gotten out of work.

Wah, so polite~!
Anywho!
I have read the books, but I haven't watched the movie nor do I intend to. I don't like the actors they chose and I didn't like the trailers all that much. I know a few people who read the books and saw the movie, but disliked it, which makes me even less enthusiastic about checking it out. Supposedly there was some censoring, plot changes, or plot compressions.
Bottom line: Read the books. 8U
Despite that, though, I'm glad you liked it, Deko. [/sup]

Yeah, even without having read the book the plot seemed rushed in some spots. Film adaptations always tend to fall short when they're based on books. It's never been a problem for me, since most of the books I read will never get turned into movies. Except for Vampire's Assistant, which I read when I was in my teens. That movie was actually pretty well cast, most of the characters were exactly how I imagined them when I read the books. The acting in that movie though was pretty awful.

@deko: Indeed; that's why I rarely ever watch movies based on books that I've read. They rarely choose actors that look like the characters I imagined in my head. Although that's mostly because unlike apparently a lot of people, I don't imagine actors when I read...I just...make the characters up in my imagination. ._.
@avid: I also like its avatar of choice! 8U Shion is quite adorable. <3 The bot has good taste. [/sup]

I want her finger nails! And the movie was pretty good. I think I expected too much from all the hype of everyone.
And when did Josh Hutcherson grow up??
And no one ever told me Woody Harrelson was in this!
