Is there any way to beat it? I find myself wasting anywhere up to 3 hours before I can sit down and finish what I need to finish. It's not really a problem of finishing things on time, I just don't know how to chip away at a project until its done...I'm usually in a frenzy to finish it a day or two before. Like right now, I'm working on a bunch of illustrations I want to put in my portfolio and I'm trying to finish within the next couple of months. I'm on a decent start but everything right now is just sketches and I can sense I'll be at the end of month two with a heap of work to do. Like even right now, I should be working on this stuff...

I wish it was just as simple as lacing up my Nike's and chugging a bottle of Gatorade. I've been doing this Draw Every Day thing, it seems to be helping. I'm on day 13 or 14 and still going strong. People always say that though, just before it all goes to shit.

Well, drawing everyday should help your skills. When I took Drawing classes, I improved greatly.

It really is helping to improve my efficiency and technique. And lately, I find I've been able to put down on paper exactly what's in my head. I just hope I can keep with this pace I'm working at right now. I love art but it can be frustrating sometimes which has (in the past) caused me to ignore it for weeks at a time.
I saw a couple of your drawings on dA. You're good, are you going to school for art?

I'll help you out... tomorrow. Im being a huge procrastinator right now too, supposed to be finding a job but I havent gotten around to even looking around. I think its this damn cold Im battling with, but I just havent been motivated to do anything. Which is bad because I have very limited funds! D: ASFMSDKFJNBSDGBSDK I need to go out and apply TOMORROW.
But in all seriousness, try to find the positives in what your procrastinating to do. That makes it slightly to finally getting around to doing it.

Nah, I am going for engineering. XD
If you can't find something to draw, draw something from your surroundings, like a box of tissues. Or work on basics like proportions, shading, and perspective.

Oh that's cool! I have some friends who are going to school for engineering. How do you like it?
I used to be an architecture student, but I got burnt out drawing structures, objects, and everything else that was heavily geometric. I'll probably work a lot on human anatomy and proportions this year. I love drawing people, and I'm starting to really enjoy drawing drapery/clothing.
I'm also trying to get started on some sequential art too. I'm hoping to finish a short comic before the year's up.

I am still doing my core credits in order to transfer. And they just changed 'em. ugh. My drawing teacher always stressed that if we draw humans to have a live model or reference. The models we had were pretty nice except for one. He was kinda snobbish. We always did like 20 minutes of short gesture drawings to warm-up. As homework, we had to copy a drawing from our book. Another assignment was to draw the anatomical man they had. We had fun. I think I got the best drawing teacher who taught it at our school. We were all awed by his work.

Art classes are great, I don't care much for beginner courses though. Not because of the curriculum, I ALWAYS learn something I didn't know before even if it's an entry course. But I have a problem with the students who feel like they're too good to be there. Those guys never shut up and let other people learn. I haven't taken my art anatomy credit yet, I need to get some practice in before I do, I feel like that's a class that would overwhelm me if I showed up without some basics down.

I never encountered people like that in my classes. We were pretty much at the same level.
I know the drawing for animation class was like that though. Some people thought they were to good to have to take the pre-reqs of drawing I & II. The teacher had to reteach the basics. They shouldn't have been able to even get into the class.
