I want to talk about the subject of artificial intelligence and the theory that robots will one day overtake mankind. We've seen it in movies, read about it in books. Do you think it will actually happen? Do you feel like we'll never be able to replicate the human mind? Or will we always just be one step ahead and be careful enough to avoid this sort of catastrophe? Discuss.

I think we have a ways to go. But I look forward to being able to have a cyborg body like Motoko. XD

Haha yeah that'd be great if they developed that tech by the time I'm old. You're right though, it's a long way off. A couple hundred years from now they're going to laugh at us because we thought Furby was awesome.

Furby was also creepy. I think self-driving cars will come first. link Then flying ones.

Ah damn, that's actually really kick-ass. Reminds me of the cars in I, Robot or Minority Report. I could totally get into that, even if we have to risk a robot uprising. xP

I also remember watching a show about this: linkI think this could solve road rage and traffic jams. Then we just gotta get them to fly....

We are going to be so lazy in the future. Like how the people were in WALL-E. It'd be great though, you could use that extra time you're not driving to read or do something productive. It would make fleeing from the cops impossible though. And haha, what's your obsession with flying cars? XD

I want a flying DeLorean. Is that to hard to ask?
How about cars with no emissions, that drive themselves, and fly. Then we could have androids do the dirty work like clean up garbage or clean bathrooms.

If robots started doing all our jobs what do you think we'd do with all our extra time? I like to think we'd have more time for art, so our architecture, design, fashion, etc. would be particularly beautiful during this period.

As long as they don't get into politics and just stick to menial tasks. We should be good.

They're super computers with legs, I think we're effed either way. They'd probably figure out a lot about our lives just from going through our garbage.

Not if you install protocols.

Yeah, it would have to be something a bit more ironclad than the Three Laws of Robotics which, as it turns out, has quite a few loopholes.

Yeaaaaaah ever since I watched "I, Robot" Ive become fearful of walking, talking, not to mention creepily life-like humanoid robots. Flying cars would be cool though. Especially if they made the flying-car sound from the Jetsons. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdWswvLPdE0

lol. The three laws weren't enough. Do we have to make them human looking? I understand the hands and flexibility but why facial features?
