Blehh, I had a run in with a black widow in my first apartment. It was in the corner of our garage space. We killed it, but for as long as I lived there I always checked the corners and ceiling of the bathroom/bedroom/whatever room I was in 'cause I was sure another one was going to pop up.
BTW, I found another scorpion yesterday morning just as I was leaving. It was by all the shoes so now paranoia dictates that I have to check my shoes before putting them on.

What the hellish state do you live in? I mean you should always check your shoes but more scorpians? Thats terrifying!

I have not had the experience of coming in contact with a black widow. Most of the spiders are small. There was that pet tarantula in fifth grade.... mosquitoes can get pretty bad and the sand fleas.... boa constrictors, alligators, monkeys...
No scorpions though.

^Monkeys?! Monkey strength is a scary thing, definitely would not want to run into one of those. What the hellish state do you live in? I mean you should always check your shoes but more scorpians? Thats terrifying! It doesn't help that they're the same color as our carpet. I got a scorpion light though so I can scan the floors for them now. I'm in Arizona btw.

Maybe install a second set of lights with the scorpion lights. That way you can scan the whole room. Google Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay. He was doing fine till some woman decided to get bit. EDIT: Monkey got caught
